I know it's been a while since I've posted a new blog entry. But who has time when you're outside having fun all day! Fall is my favourite time of the year. There's cooler temperatures, beautiful colours, few bugs and great harvest of berries and apples. This is the time to get the camping gear out, canoe or kayak and your camera. As you can see from this photo, the dogs are loving it too! Come join us any time. We love company that enjoys this like we do.
Lots of new and old faces.
Well, it's been a long time since I've written a blog post, and we've had lots of new faces and some old ones too.
Jovi is a return hiker, while her Mom recovers from surgery. Ziggy is a neighbours dog that joins us for hikes. Penny and Jack are BC's from the same family and breeder. Jake is a boarder that has become a regular hiker. Lola, the Portie puppy is lots of fun. Lycan is a baby BC mix, who has recently started hiking with us. Indy is a wonderful looking mix, that gets mistaken for a cattle dog. And of course, Nutella's puppies are almost 1 year old! And Goldie is still hiking strong for 14.5years and Jag has been with me since he was 7 weeks old, and is now 11 years old.!
Jag, hiking for eleven years. Doesn't look his age!
Come help us Celebrate 15 years of Dog Hiking!
We will be hosting a BBQ and hike on October 15th, from 3-6pm at Health Mutts, 23A Bluewater Rd in Bedford. RSVP by October 10th, if you plan on joining us. Hope to see you there. Games for the dogs and family fall photos on our hike at Sandy Lake. Apple pie and ice cream for dessert.
New Paws join the Hikes and Celebrating 15 years of Hiking!
It's been a busy, hot, summer! Now Fall is on us, and it's time to sit down and write a new blog entry. Several new puppy faces have joined our hikes. And this was the summer to introduce some dogs to the joy of swimming! Taisce, Anchor, Ozzy, Lily and Thor all swam for the first time with me this summer.
Big vs Little
Big dogs like Bacon and Audrey can adjust their play to accommodate little dogs like Duke, if they're well socialized. We try to encourage good play skills and dog social time on our hikes.
